ANAHEIM, Calif. (KQTV) -- Central High School alum Noah Cameron went 6.1 innings with no hits against the Los Angeles Angels Sunday afternoon.

The possible no-hitter was broken up in the 7th inning when Angels first baseman Vaughn Grissom singled over the head of Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. However, the Royals still won the game 3-0.

Throughout this game, Cameron had 8 strikeouts, 1 hit, 1 walk, and no runs. This is also Cameron's first complete-game shutout.

The St. Joseph native is 7-8 on the mound this season. The Kansas City Royals will head back home to Kauffman Stadium on Monday, August 17, to take on the Athletics.
